From being a nondescript writer to an actor and now a director, Zeishan Quadri has come a long way from being just an inexperienced newcomer in Bollywood. Donning the director’s cap for the first time, Zeishan has already finished shooting his directorial debut that is set to release in February 2015.
Zeishan seems to have a penchant for gangster lores. Meeruthiya Gangsters will be his fourth gangster film in a row.
“Stories about crime and gangsters attract me. Also, having lived in different parts of the country, I have been able to observe and analyze various activities of criminals and their working styles, mannerisms etc. But then, crime occurs everywhere but not every story is worth telling,” says Zeishan.

Starting off as a scriptwriter, Zeishan says that he always wanted to be a director. “Meeruthiya Gangsters was the first movie script I had written and since Meerut as a city is also very close to my heart, I had planned to direct it myself. I did my graduation from Meerut and what had always intrigued me was the language, which they call khadiboli. People may have heard a lot about the badlands of west Uttar Pradesh, but they’ll get to see the real deal only in my film,” says the debutant director with conviction.
Apart from his debut directorial venture, Zeishan has his hands full at the moment with a host of big-ticket projects. “Apart from the post production of Meeruthiya Gangsters, I’m working on the script of Madamji for Madhur Bhandarkar. Then there is Oh Womaniya, to be made under the banner of Pritish Nandy Communications and helmed by Anu Menon of London Paris New York fame. I’m also working on a crime thriller for Fardeen Khan-starrer, which is tentatively titled as Firauti,” informs Zeishan.
