While AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal was busy with his road show in the rural areas of Talwandi Sabo, rebel Balkar Singh Sidhu held a mega rally in the urban area of Gillanwala Khu. Sidhu termed Kejriwal’s road show a ‘flop show’. “Kejriwal is roaming the villages with a few of his supporters and has failed to gather the masses. A change in ticket after five days was not accepted by the voters. The result will show on polling day,” he said.
Balkar drew a sizeable crowd, getting support even from the BSP and a number of Punjabi singers. The rally blocked one side of the main road, causing a traffic jam.
State BSP chief Parkash Singh Jandiali attended the rally to support Sidhu, and claimed that the area had about 4,000 BSP votes.
Swabhimaan Party Punjab Pradesh, a group which backs Anna Hazare, also supported to Sidhu. Buses were hired to pick up and drop the crowd. Sidhu claimed they were all from the constituency.
