Norms soon to restrict inter-college transfers
BHUBANESWAR: To check inter-college transfers of students under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) in covert ways, the state government has decided to introduce stringent norms.
The employment, technical education and training department has decided to stop inter-college transfer within the city and 50 km distance. Transfer from one government-run college to another will not be ordinarily allowed, government sources said.
The government will issue a notification soon and the changes would be incorporated in the Academic Regulations of the university, a government officer said.

Any application for inter-college transfer on medical ground would be sent to the medical board of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) committee for verification of illness. The cases so referred by medical board would then be placed before the Board of Management of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) for necessary approval. Many students are taking transfers by producing fake medical certificates. TNN
