Lea lighted night stands

Details: Lighted, wood night stands sold at Furnitureland South and other major furniture stores nationwide and online at Hayneedle.com and others from March 2013 through April 2014 for about $350. Three different styles and finishes with two drawers, a power strip on the back panel and a 20-watt halogen bulb on the underside of the bottom panel. Models: 244-421 Willow Run in a toffee finish, 245-421 Willow Run in a white finish and 237-420 Americana in a medium oak finish. “Lea” and the model number are printed on a label on the back of the night stands. There are two touch buttons on either side of the side panels which operate the nightstand’s lamp.

Why: Light fixture can overheat and scorch carpet, posing a burn hazard.

Incidents: Three reports of overheating and scorching carpets. No injuries.

DD Brand tin candles

Details: The 4-ounce candles were sold at Hobby Lobby in a round metal tin with a metal lid. The single wick candles are 2.75 inches wide by 2 inches high and were sold in 35 fragrances and colors of wax. A “DD” logo is embossed atop the metal lid. Batch numbers included: 14070, 14071, 14072, 14073, 14076, 14077, 14078, 14132, 14134, 14135, 14139, 14140, 14155, 14156, 14157 and 14178.

Why: The candle’s high flame can ignite the surface of the wax and the polymer coating on the tin-plated container, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents: Two reports of the candle’s surface igniting and one report of minor property damage; no injuries.

HDR stirrup leathers

Details: Five models of pre-stretched stirrup leathers branded with the HDR logo and name “HENRI DE RIVEL.”

Why: The stirrup leather can crack and break, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

Incidents: Three reports of broken stirrup leathers. No injuries.
