On the heels of the launch of kawalpemilu
n the heels of the launch of kawalpemilu.org by a community of volunteers to safeguard this year's election vote recapitulation process, kawalmenteri.org is now online to monitor and assess the government's performance.
Diding Sakri, the website's coordinator, said KawalMenteri aimed not only to give Indonesians the opportunity to assess the performance of ministers but to also propose names of potential ministerial post candidates that should be considered by president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo.
He also said that the volunteers who created KawalMenteri had no political party affiliation.
'It [KawalMenteri] aims to accommodate a new wave of democracy that is participative, transparent and accountable in Indonesia,' he said as quoted from kontan.co.id.
He said that Indonesians could also give their two cents through social media, such as by tweeting the website's Twitter account (@KawalMenteri) and leaving comments on its Facebook page (facebook.com/KawalMenteri). (alz)
