A man was arrested Friday in Larimer County after allegedly breaking into several vehicles, including an unmarked car belonging to the sheriff’s office from which he reportedly stole a shotgun.

James Bradley Fightmaster, 24, was charged with several felony counts in connection with the alleged break-ins, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Fightmaster’s alleged spree occurred early Thursday in the area of River West Drive and Weld County Road 13.

Along with the 12-gauge shotgun, the sheriff’s office says Fightmaster also stole ammunition for another weapon from the office’s vehicle.

Fightmaster is being held in lieu of $75,000 cash-only bond, the release said.

“An internal investigation will also be conducted by the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office to determine if all appropriate policies and procedures were followed regarding the storage and security of departmental equipment,” the release said.
