Panaji: Five
Goan students, under the Fomento Scholars programme— Aaron Alphonsus, Rashid Desai, Nihal Karanth, Gavin Silveira and Lyle Vaz— who were selected from over 500 applicants from the state, will undergo four years of undergraduate engineering
education at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, USA.
The programme aims to enable Goan students to get top-quality engineering education and global exposure at centers of excellence across the world.
The school is one of the best state-run engineering universities in the USA and could serve as a gateway to top-tier engineering firms that hire from there. tnn
