Engineering student drowns in Ambazari

Pranav Jajodiya, 17, a first-year engineering student, drowned in Ambazari lake on Sunday while enjoying with friends.Jajodiya, a resident of Bhayandar in Mumbai, had arrived in the city hardly a fortnight ago.

NAGPUR: Pranav Jajodiya, 17, a first-year engineering student, drowned in Ambazari lake on Sunday while enjoying with friends. Jajodiya, a resident of Bhayandar in Mumbai, had arrived in the city hardly a fortnight ago. His body is yet to be fished out.
It's learnt that Jajodiya had come to the lake along with a group of friends. The group had taken admission at an Hingna-based engineering college this month when the academic session kicked off.
Jajodiya started drowning after some time as the group ventured into the deeper part of the lake. Despite attempts by friends to rescue him, Jajodiya drowned in the lake triggering panic among others. His friends alerted police control room with the help of other citizens.
Cops from Ambazari police station reached the place and also alerted the fire brigade. The fire brigade and local divers tried to recover Jajodiya's body but the rescue operation was halted as darkness fell. Ambazari police have registered a case of accidental death.
