Possibility of fresh gang war in east UP

VARANASI: Suspense about the gangster Rajesh Chaudhary’s missing henchman Suraj Singh became over on Saturday when his decayed body was recovered between two fountains in the jungles of Mirzapur.
With this development there is a possibility of fresh gang war may intensify in east UP, though the men in khaki are still groping in the dark in this episode as they have not succeeded in identifying two of the three shooters so far.
On August 9, the gangsters, including Rajesh Chaudhary, Dharmendra Pandey alias Kallu, Suraj Singh, Doctor alias Nadeem, Rinku Singh of Allahabad, one of their companionsv Kallu, Tarun Asthana etc had gathered in the remote jungle of Saradah in Ahraura area in Mirzapur district for a feast. After consuming liquor and food purchased from Sukrut area when they were about to leave the place, Rinku, Doctor and the other youth opened fire on Chaudhary, Kallu and Suraj. The bodies of Chaudhary and Kallu were recovered from the same spot while Suraj was missing.
On Saturday morning, some people who had gone near Lakhaniadari and Chunadari areas for picnic,experienced foul smell emanating from the place. Later, they spotted a decayed body lying on rocks between two fountains. They reported the matter to the police. The Cops identified the body as that of Suraj on the basis of a voter identity card, ATM and driving licence recovered from his clothes. Later, Asthana and Suraj’s brother Pankaj also reached there and confirmed that body was of Suraj. He had suffered bullet injuries on face before felling in the fountain.
The DIG Vindhya Range MD Karandhar had already made it clear that all these criminals belonged to Varanasi hence the investigation in this case is also being done by them. However, the DIG Varanasi Range SK Bhagat, who is monitoring the investigation of this case being conducted by special task force (STF)and the crime branch, hinted that the investigators have not reached to any conclusion regarding the reason behind these killings. While some of the investigators are suspecting a dispute in connection with property dealing among these gangsters theothers are looking for some other reasons.
The underworld in the east UP is also puzzled as sources close to different groups are also not very sure whether the killings are result of infighting in the gang of mafia don Prem Prakash alias Munna Bajrangi, who is presently lodged at Sultanpur jail, or his arch rival had conspired in this episode. It is said that Chaudhary, whose relative Kripa Chaudhary who was the most reliable lieutenant of Bajrangi before his killing in police encounter, had been operating as commander of this gang. But, for past few months he had started efforts to operate his own gang parallel to that of Bajrangi.
One group is suspecting the role of Bajrangi in these killings but, by analysing the style of killing the trio in a planned way the other group is expressing doubts on the role of an arch rival of Bajrangi, who had shifted his base to Mirzapur and Sonebhadra after entering politics. The same reason is generating speculations regarding intensifying of fresh gang war.
