VASCO: Vasco police on Saturday arrested the fourth accused in the car theft racket case.
Jaffer Shaikh, 32, was arrested a day after the first three accused were nabbed while trying to sell a brand new stolen car at Bogmalo.
While Shaikh was remanded to three days, the bail applications of Kasim Hawaldar, Naveed Shaikh and Durgesh Shirol were rejected by the Vasco JMFC.

PSI Nikhil Palekar said that Shaikh has a garage and the three others are tourist taxi drivers. Police are investigating all their business-related activities as they are suspected to be involved in a big racket of stealing brand new cars.
The fifth and main accused, a resident of Margao is still absconding. Police say that only after his arrest, the modus operandi canbe revealed.
Vasco police on Thursday had arrested three persons allegedly involved in a racket of stealing brand new cars and selling them off in the local market.
