2 more die of Chandipura virus

VADODARA: Two patients suspected of suffering from Chandipura virus died at the Sir Sayajirao General Hospital in the last two days. Haresh Parghi (3) from Fatehpura taluka died on Friday night while Mugafira Tapla (3) from Godhra taluka in Panchmahal district breathed his last on Saturday due to viral encephalitis.
Two others suffering Janki Vasava (2) of Waghodia taluka in Vadodara district Kajal Nayak (2) were admitted to SSGH on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Kajal Nayak (2) was brought to SSGH in a similar condition from Devgadh-Baria taluka on Friday.
Of the total 30 blood samples sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, authorities have so far received results of 14 samples only. Of these, six tested positive for Chandipura virus and eight samples were negative. Samples of Pargi, Tapla, Vasava and Nayak will be sent to the NIV on Monday.
