Bypolls for 4 assembly seats on Sept 13

JAIPUR: Bypolls for the Nasirabad (Ajmer), Weir (Bharatpur), Surajgarh (Jhunjhunu) and Kota south assembly constituencies would be held on September 13. The counting of votes would take place on September 16.
The Election Commission on Saturday announced the byelections for the four assembly seats, as these fell vacant after the sitting MLAs got elected to the 14th Lok Sabha in May.
With the announcement of election dates, model %code of conduct has come %into force in these assembly areas.
Filing of nominations for the bypolls would start with the issuance of the election notification on August 20. Last date of nominations is August 27, while the scrutiny of nomination forms would be done on August 28.
"The last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 30," chief electoral officer Govind Sharma said at a press conference here.
