Vani Rani actress bags a film in Sandalwood

Theatre actor-turned television actress Nikhila Rao is all set to enter Sandalwood with the film, Srinivasa Kalyana. The actress plays one of the important roles in Radikaa Sarathkumar's television soap Vani Rani for the past couple of years.
On her transition from the stage to the celluloid, she says, “I used to know a person from Radikaa's production house who was part of my drama classes.He asked me if I was interested in doing a television serial. I thought I'd try my luck and before I knew it, I'd landed a part in a Telugu serial. The following year, after it was wrapped up, I got to be part of Vani Rani.“
About her debut Kannada film, she says, “The casting director was my friend, so he recommended my name to the director-actor MG Srinivas. When I went there, my audition required me to mouth akka-amma abuses.
While I was initially taken aback, Srinivas ensured I was comfortable by explaining the situation. And that's how I landed the role.“
