Saqlain confident Saeed Ajmal will bounce back
LONDON: Saqlain Mushtaq, one of the finest exponents of the 'doosra' is somewhat perplexed that Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal's action has been deemed suspicious by the on-field umpires. Ajmal, after all, has been on the international scene since 2008 and has already taken 174 wickets in 34 Tests.
"It is strange no doubt, but it is possible that certain flaw may have crept into Ajmal's action.

Just as batsmen develop technical flaws in their batting, bowlers too can suffer from it," Saqlain, who is here at The Oval as a TV commentator, said.
"In Ajmal's case it could be because of certain stiffness in the shoulder muscle. Bowling long spells and delivering doosras often can lead to that," opined Saqlain, who is confident that Ajmal will be able to overcome the problem.
Asked to assess England's Moeen Ali, Saqlain said: "Moeen is a tough guy and is bowling with a lot of heart. He is not a big spinner of the ball, but he has been getting a bit of drift and varying his pace cleverly."
