Johannesburg - A man was killed and his son wounded when two men shot at their car in Marlboro, north of Johannesburg, Gauteng police said on Friday.

The 52-year-old man had picked up his son, 20, from the Gautrain station in Marlboro on Thursday evening, Captain Kym Cloete said.

On the corner of Lenin and Laduma streets, they were approached by two men.

“Shots were fired through the door and window of the vehicle,” said Cloete.

“The suspects fled without taking anything.”

The father died on the scene and his son was taken to hospital.

Alexandra police were investigating.

No arrests had been made.
