MBABANE – The Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) Chairman Victor Gamedze has urged teams to come up with viable technical sponsorship for Vision 2022.

He said the executive committee has covered much ground in ensuring the sale of replica jerseys for clubs.
He said the deal will also include the sale of soccer boots and tracksuits.

“We are challenging you members to come up with suggestions for technical sponsors that will be cheap for vision 2022. This is open to anyone because we want to make sure that when the new season starts, the sale of replica jerseys should start. Even members of the media can assist here because this is business,” he said.

This was during a caucus meeting held after the postponement of last night’s AGM as members could not form the mandatory quorum. He pleaded with clubs to support vision 2022 by lobbying their supporters to support it.

There were 12 teams at last night postponed meeting, when at least 16 teams should have attended to form the quorum. The vision 2022 was launched last month by the PLS with the view of professionalising football at the Premier League. The idea encompasses having the sale of replica jerseys centralised and controlled by the PLS.

Supporters are expected to buy replica jerseys for their respective teams at E450 each and gain access to all 22 games involving their teams.
The proceeds from the sales are to go to the clubs to boost their coffers with the PLS taking a handling fee for administering the whole process.
