Four persons killed in a road accident in Madurai

The police investigated and found out that members of a family from Erode and were heading to Courtallam in a car.

Four persons, including two children were killed and three others seriously injured, in a road accident near Kadayanallur on Thursday. The police said members of a family from Erode were going to Courtallam in a car.

S. Ali Ibrahim (60), who was driving the car, overtook a car, which was parked right on the highway, to suffer a head-on collision with a speeding lorry coming from the opposite direction.

While Ali Ibrahim and his wife A. Shahul (55) were killed on the spot, his grandchildren A. Asrak (6) and A. Mushtaq (6) died in the Tenkasi Government Hospital where they were rushed for treatment.

With grievous injuries, Mushtaq’s mother A. Nasiha (26) of Chennai, Z. Shadahad Nisha (23) of Erode and Ms. Nisha’s son Mohamed Ashiq (5) were referred to Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. Their condition is said to be “critical”.
