Darshan remembers Sangolli Rayanna

Today is Independence Day and everyone, including namma stars, is feeling patriotic. Challenging Star Darshan has a special connect with the day, since he played the role of the great warrior Sangolli Rayanna in the 2012 hit Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna, for which he even won the Bangalore Times Film Award for the Best Actor (Male). So it’s only apt that the star took to Twitter to remember the warrior.
“Happy Birthday wishes to the great warrior Sangolli Rayanna who sacrificed his life for freedom.It is a great honor and privilege for me to remember. Happy to have played the role of him in my movie. Hats off to his courage and patriotism,” posted Darshan.
Marking Independence Day, the actor’s earlier tweet read, “Happy Independence Day wishes to everyone. May the pride and honor of India scale great heights. Let’s salute our nation on this special day. Feels Proud to be an Indian. Jai Hind. Jai Karnataka Maathe.”
