West Bengal finance minister says war of words with Tata over

'Mr Mitra said that the way the media portrayed Mr Tata's statements hurt Bengal's pride'

Kolkata: A week after the war of words between him and industrialist Ratan Tata over industrialisation in West Bengal, industries and finance minister Amit Mitra on Thursday said the chapter is closed.

“The problem is that when an iconic figure like him (Mr Tata) says something, and even if it is wrong, the media twisted it to mean that there is no industry in the entire state. Then the pride of the people of Bengal gets hurt,” Mr Mitra said.

“After he made the comment I gave a reply. Then he tweeted and I again replied. If he wants to see industrialisation in Ben-gal then he has to go to Panagarh, Goaltore or K-haragpur. So the chapter is closed,” he said.
