Patan gets Siddhraj Jaysinh’s grand statue (in pictures)

Finally, the city of Patan has got Siddhraj Jaysinh’s statue.
Patan remained Gujarat’s capital for longer period than Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar. In mediaval time Gujarat was known as Gurjar Desh, and one ruler that is remembered with respect even today was Siddhraj Jaysimh. Patan was capital of Siddhraj’s Gurjar desh which was upto Konkan in south, Ajmer in north and Gwalior in east.
Inaugurating a statue of Siddhraj Jaysimh today, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel wished every child of Gujarat earn fame and respect like Siddhraj Jaysimh.
The real size statue has been built at a cost of Rs. 37 lakh. Congress MLA from Siddhpur and Chief Whip of Congress party in Gujarat assembly Balwantsinh Rajput has donated the statue which has been placed at Bagvada darwaja in Patan. Rajput was present in the function. Chief Minister felicitated him with shawl.
