INDORE: Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) carried out an inspection at the newly laid Fatehabad-Laxmibai Nagar (Indore) broad gauge on Wednesday during his visit to the city.
CRS P S Baghel while talking to the media said, "The railway line is likely to reduce traffic and improve connectivity between Indore and Ratlam. If no fault is found on the track we will soon issue certificate that will allow trains to run".
PRO Jitendra Kumat Jayant said, "CRS inspected the line on motor trolley, examined the bridges, man-unmanned tracks, inspected the station building on safety and security point of view." He added that on Thursday CRS will conduct a trial run by special train on the tracks, which will run at a speed of 120 to 130 km. "CRS checked at what speed the train can run," said Jayant.
He added, "If CRS certifies the track early, then possibly it will become operational from September, giving relief to Indore-Ratlam passengers who can travel between two cities in less than 2.5 hours".
