Former Kudumbasree project officer and member secretary M.V. Ramsi Ismail has served a legal notice on City Corporation councillor N.C. Moyinkutty, and Managing Editor and Chief Editor of a Malayalam daily on grounds that they had defamed him.

In a press release, Mr. Moyinkutty had levelled allegations of corruption against Mr. Ismail and had alleged that the latter had been expelled from the post of personal assistant (PA) to two MLAs. The newspaper had published a news item regarding his displacement sending wrong notions to the reader. In a press release here, Mr. Ismail said that he had been the PA of MLA P.M. Aboobakker until he passed away and of MLA T.P.M. Sahir until he completed his tenure. Mr. Ismail said he had worked on deputation in various departments. He said that no allegations of corruption were ever raised against him.

Mr. Moyinkutty’s comment and the report in the daily were defamatory, he said in the release.
