NASHIK: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) on Wednesday said that acquisition 1,050 acres of land for the industry is in its final stages and the process will be completed in the next four months.
This was informed by regional officer (Nashik division) of MIDC Ramdas Khedkar during the meeting of the Zilla Udyog Mitra (ZUM) headed by district collector Vilas Patil.
Khedkar said, "We have already acquired 250 acres at Talegaon and Akrale villages in Dindori, near Nashik.
We are also in the process of acquiring another 250 acres adjoining the location. Around 500 acres of land will be made available for the industry soon. Besides, we have also identified 113 hectares (282 acres) of land at Sayane, in Malegaon tehsil of the district, of which, we are in the process of acquiring 93 hectares. We have already given Rs 36 crore to the sub-divisional officer to make payment to the farmers concerned."
"Apart from this, we are also in the process of acquiring 109 hectares (272 acres) at Yeola. Around 1,050 acres at three locations — Dindori, Malegaon and Yeola — would acquire within the next four months. We have also started the survey of land in Dindori pertaining to the requirement of the infrastructure there," Khedkar added.
District collector Vilas Patil had held negotiations with the farmers from Dindori, Malegaon and Yeola for acquisition of land from November 2013 to January this year.
Sahebrao Patil, general manager, district industries centre, said, "We have also identified two locations — Gonde-Wadiwarhe and Jaulke-Janori belts — where industries have come up on private land, for providing infrastructure like roads, streetlights and water. The state government provides 75% of financial assistance for infrastructure, while the remaining 25% is to be borne by stake-holders. We are in the process of preparing estimates for the purpose."
Industries in Satpur and Ambad industrial estates of MIDC are fully occupied and there is no land for even the existing industries for further expansion. There has been a strong demand from the industry for an additional industrial estate of MIDC. The industrial development of Nashik has hampered due to lack of land for the past 10 years. The proposed acquisition of 1,050 acres of land by the MIDC has created hopes for the industries here.
