Veteran Congress leader and former chief minster of UP and Uttarakhand Narain Dutt Tiwari on Wednesday declared his wife Ujjwala Tiwari and son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari as his heirs — familial and political — said a statement from his OSD Arun Shukla.
Tiwari said that in view of his 72 year-old-long political career and his age (89) he has “handed over his political and family inheritance to wife Ujjwala Tiwari and son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari and declared them as his registered heirs,” adding that if he has given his heir status to anyone through a will or any other document in the past, then it should be considered null and void with immediate effect.
He also said that if his name was being used by any private trust, institution or organisation without his approval, then it should be considered cancelled and ineffective.
After the DNA results established Tiwari as Rohit’s father and Ujjwala Sharma as his mother in 2012, the Congress leader finally accepted Rohit as his son only this March.
Later, Tiwari married Ujjwala on May 15 this year.
