Assistant town planner caught taking bribe

LUDHIANA: Vigilance wing of the police nabbed assistant town planner Banke Bihari taking a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh. Manjeet Rai, a resident of Shimlapuri, had approached the vigilance wing alleging that ATP Banke Bihari posted at Zone C office of municipal corporation was demanding Rs 1.25 lakh to regularize the construction of his house. Following the complaint, vigilance sleuths laid a trap and arrested the official red handed while talking the bribe.
