Joint Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed called upon people to cooperate and provide correct information to enumerators during the comprehensive household survey, which will be held on August 19.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he clarified that the household survey was aimed at understanding the socio-economic conditions in Telangana. “This is not a nativity survey or a survey to identify beneficiaries for welfare schemes or ration cards etc.,” he maintained.

Responding to various queries, he said that parents could share details of their children studying in various hostels and they need not necessarily be present. Residents can also provide details of those family members who are hospitalised.

Appealing to people to keep ready all documents such as Aadhaar card and the disability certificate issued by the Sadaram camp, he also appealed to farmers to show the passbooks pertaining to their agricultural lands to the enumerators. He said that there would be around 10.50 lakh households in the district and they had deployed 36,000 employees to conduct the survey.

To a query, he said that the government had declared holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and all the Central government offices, banks and private offices would be closed on August 19 to help all people to participate in the survey. DRO T Veerabrahmaiah, DRDA project director S Vijaygopal and others were also present.
