Eager participation:  Officiating guests tour the Junior Police Call 40th Anniversary Fight Crime Summer Camp.

JPC celebrates 40th anniversary

August 13, 2014

Secretary for Security TK Lai called on young people to help Police fight crime and promote anti-drug messages at the Junior Police Call 40th Anniversary Fight Crime Summer Camp today.

He officiated at the camp’s launch ceremony with Chief Secretary Carrie Lam and Commissioner of Police Andy Tsang at Wu Kwai Sha Youth Village.

Mr Lai encouraged JPC members to continue to fight crime and noted that the number of serious crimes committed by young people is falling.

To mark the JPC’s 40th anniversary, 400 guests held placards forming a large picture saying “anti-drug, anti-crime” in Chinese characters, and “40” to symbolise its fight-crime commitment since its establishment.

The annual summer camp enhances JPC members' awareness of crime and drug abuse, and promotes positive values through various activities.

About 800 JPC members are taking part in this year’s camp from August 12 to 15.
