Tennis player launches tirade at chair umpire over incorrect call

Tennis player erupts at chair umpire over incorrect call

In her first-round match against Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer at the Cincinnati MAsters, Italian tennis player Sara Errani went toe-to-toe with the chair umpire in a tirade that would have made John McEnroe proud.

With the third set delicately poised at 3-3, Errani's serve landed in but was overruled by the umpire, however during the call Wickmayer returned serve, which went out.

Errani challenged the call, which replays clearly showed that her serve was in, however rather than giving the point to Errani, the umpire ruled that the point must be replayed.

Cue meltdown.

"You're making two mistakes, not one," Errani said.

"Two mistakes. Unbelievable."

The argument went on for nearly two minutes. Despite the heated exchange, Errani composed herself enough to close out the match, defeating Wickmayer 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (2).
