Father of 3 held for kidnapping minor girl

POONCH, Aug 12: Surankote police has arrested a middle aged man and father of three children, for allegedly kidnapping and committing sexual assault on a 15-year-old girl.
The accused identified as  Masood Ahmed, son of  Khadim Hussain, resident of Gonthal village in Surankote was today arrested by police from Maler Kotla in Punjab. The minor girl Bilqees Kouser (name changed) was also recovered. The accused had been hiding in the house of his relatives there.
The police launched search operation after the father Barkat, lodged an FIR with Surankote police alleging that his minor daughter was kidnapped by one Masood Ahmad  of the same village on August 6. Upon this, the SDPO Surankote Ajay Sharma dispatched a police team led by ASI Maqbool Hussain to Agra in UP and then to Maler Kotla in Punjab. The police managed to trace the girl and arrest the accused.
The girl was sent for medical examination to local hospital and then after recording her statement, was handed over to the family. The accused has been sent behind the bars in police lock up. A Case FIR No. 137/ 2014 has been registered against him. The girl alleged that she was sexually assaulted by the accused several times.  The police has started investigation.
