BIJBEHARA, Aug 12: 15th death anniversary of Prem Nath Shastri, eminent religious philosopher was observed, under the supervision of his son, Jyotshi Omkar Nath Shastri at Mattan, near here today.
Other two sons of the scholar namely Bhushan Lal and Autar Krishan were also present on the occasion.
Maha Yagya was organized on the occasion, which was participated by a large number of people. ‘Bhajans’ and ‘kirtans’ were also held on the occasion, which smacked an ecstatic feeling among the devotees and participants.
After the ‘suhakars’, the yagya culminated with ‘puran ahuti’ and ‘maha bhog’ served among the devotees.
Later-on, a kalsh yatra was taken from Mattan to Bijbehara, the birth place of the religious guru.
Eloborate security arrangements were made during the day by the State Government.
M K Yogi, president, Mattan Sabha, Ashok Sidha and Tehsildar Mattan were present on the occasion.
