Metro on full frequency for UPSC prelims: Govt to DMRC

Even as protests over the UPSC CSAT continue, the government is gearing up to conduct the preliminary exam for civil services on August 24. With over a lakh candidates expected to sit for the prelims at over 200 centres across the city, the Delhi government has already written to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to ensure “full frequency” of the Metro services for the day.

“Although DMRC operates on all seven days, I am directed to request you to ensure that these services remain operational at full frequency on 24.08.2014, particularly in morning hours to avoid difficulties to candidates,” a letter from

The examination timings would be from 9.30 am to 11.30 am for the forenoon session, and from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm for the afternoon session. According to data available with the Transport department, 1,06,667 candidates would take the preliminary examination for the civil services at the 222 centres designated across the city.
