Gautam Adani Kidnap case: Fazlu Rehman produced in Ahmedabad court

Gangster Fazl-Ur-Rehman alias ‘Fazlu Rehman’ was produced in the Ahmedabad district court today in connection with a 17-year old case(1997) of kidnapping of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani.
Fazlu who has been accused in several extortion cases in cities including Delhi and Mumbai was brought from Tihar jail in Delhi to Ahmedabad on district court’s order. The court adjourned hearing to August 22 as Fazlu’s lawyer sought time before the court initiates proceedings of framing charges against Fazlu.
As per the case details, Gautam Adani was kidnapped allegedly by Fazlu and two other persons. Adani was released after paying Rs. 15 crore as ransom to Dubai-based gangster Irfan Goga. Fazlu was arrested in August 2006 by Delhi police on Indo-Nepal border.
