Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris will add non-stop service between Orlando International and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Volaris will have two round-trip flights a week between the cities starting Nov. 18, using both 144-seat Airbus A319 and 174-seat Airbus A320 jets on the route.

"One of our most important goals is increasing opportunities for international access for Central Florida residents," Phil Brown, executive director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, says in a statement announcing the route. "We are gratified when an airline partner like Volaris can expand its flight schedule to benefit our region's business and leisure travelers."

The Orlando airport says the route will be its first-ever regularly scheduled non-stop airline service to Guadalajara.

Volaris already flies one route from Orlando, offering non-stop service to Mexico City. Volaris began that route in 2012 with two weekly flights, though it currently flies the route four times a week.
