YPS Patiala wins inter-school declamation competition at Sanawar

Eighteen teams participated in an All India Inter-school English Declamation Competition 2014 held at The Lawrence School, Sanawar on Sunday.

CHANDIGARH: Eighteen teams participated in an All India Inter-school English Declamation Competition 2014 held at The Lawrence School, Sanawar on Sunday.
Teams from different institutions like Daly College Indore, MGD Girls School Jaipur, Rashtriya Military School Chail, St. George's College Mussoorie, Mayo College Girls School Ajmer, La Martiniere College Lucknow, Mayo Boys College Ajmer, Vasant Valley School New Delhi, Vidya Devi Jindal School Hisar, Welham Girls School Dehradun, Convent of Jesus & Mary (Chelsea) Shimla, St.
Kabir Public School Chandigarh, Dayanand Public School Shimla, Vivek High School Chandigarh, Auckland House Shimla, Vivek High School Mohali, YPS Patiala and hosts The Lawrence School Sanawar participated.
The contest witnessed a neck and neck struggle of dexterous articulation between participants. The competition was judged by - Dr Mridula Sharma (an authority on Indian writing in English and senior lecturer at MCM DAV College for Girls, Chandigarh), Indira Bhasin (freelance soft skills trainer & image consultant, Shimla) and Raveen Bhullar (a special educator, Shimla).
Capt Ram Kiran Nanduri, Station Commander, Air Force Station, Kasauli was the chief guest at the occasion. Lauding the performance of the contestants the chief guest awarded the trophy and prizes to the winners.
The first second third and fourth consolation prizes were bagged by Vaibhav Ramlakhani (Mayo Boys College Ajmer), Ishan Loomba (St. Kabir Chandigarh), Yudhvir Kabuli (The Lawrence School Sanawar) and Urvashi Chauhan (Convent of Jesus & Mary Shimla) respectively; while Aayushi Saini (YPS Patiala), Aarnav Bhanout Sharma (St. George's College Mussoorie) and Praneet Rathor (YPS Patiala) won the first, second, and third individual positions respectively. The overall trophy was won by YPS Patiala.
