After much controversy, the annual Teej festival was finally organized at Shivalik Garden in Manimajra on Saturday.

CHANDIGARH: After much controversy, the annual Teej festival was finally organized at Shivalik Garden in Manimajra on Saturday.
The function began around 11 am and was marked with Punjabi, Haryanvi and Rajasthani folk dances, songs, fusion of giddha and bhangra and 'Teeian de Geet' by famous artists sponsored by North Zone Cultural Centre.
Other attractions at the mela included camel rides, cart rides, 'Pind Di Nuhar', puppet show, magic show, stalls of sweets, lassi and maal-pua, handicrafts, designer fabrics and other domestic items, etc.

The stage was decorated with colourful lights and traditional flags and beats of dhol and boliyan merged with giddha and bhangra.
Prerna Puri, additional secretary (Home), was chief guest for the cultural evening.
