A 30-year-old woman has alleged that she was raped by two men claiming to be working for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on August 2 at a tourist resort in Haryana. Police said the woman claims that the men raped her after luring her on the pretext of giving her a job in the DMRC.
“The two men are being questioned in connection with the matter. An FIR has been registered under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC. A probe is on,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said.
Police said the alleged incident took place on August 2 in Sonepat, Haryana.
“The woman alleges that she was promised a job in the DMRC by one of the two men. He introduced her to the second official named in her complaint. The three met in a restaurant in Prashant Vihar on August 2. They had a long chat after which they drove off to Sonepat. There they checked into a government-run tourist resort. The woman claimed that she was raped by the two men there,” a senior police officer said.
Police said the woman did not register a complaint with the Haryana police then. “She lodged an FIR on August 9 in Prashant Vihar police station because the three of them had met in a restaurant in that area. The report of the woman’s medical examination is awaited. The two accused are being questioned,” Singh said.
