Under-14 cricket: Unbeaten 235 by Pradosh; Sanjay scalps seven

Skipper Pradosh Ranjan Paul smashed an unbeaten 235 (169b, 30x4) as Tirupur registered a 212-run win over Pudukottai and advanced to the next stage of the TNCA under-14 inter-district cricket tournament here on Saturday.

Paul shared a 203-run opening wicket partnership with Ayush A. Paleja (58).

At Nagapattinam, S. Sanjay scalped seven wickets as Salem defeated Dharmapuri by 61 runs. Both the teams have qualified for the next round.

Aashiq, Mohan score centuries

K. Aashiq’s unbeaten 102 enabled host Dindigul register a massive 189 run win over Thanjavur.

In another match at Tirunelveli, P.S. Mohan’s century helped Cuddalore thrash Namakkal by 256 runs.

At Tiruchi: Kanyakumari 98 in 37.4 overs (A. Mohammed Faraz 29, A. Dhaneshwar four for 30) lost to Karur 99 for no loss in 17 overs (K. Meganathan 65).

Tiruvallur 169 in 50 overs (R. Ram Arvindh 49, R. Rajaguru 25, I. Nithyesh three for 32) lost to Tiruchi 173 for eight in 49.3 overs (A. Chavinth Nadiesh 57 n.o., S. Ramprasath 38, T. Arjun 32, R. Rajaguru four for 30). Tiruchi and Tiruvallur qualify.

At Nagapattinam: Theni 102 in 41.4 overs (J.K. Rithikmiller 29, M. Karan three for 15) lost to Nagapattinam 103 for seven in 38.3 overs (M. Karan 26).

Salem 175 in 49.2 overs (S.J. Krithick 57, Akash 25, T. Uthayanithi five for 25) bt Dharmapuri 114 in 23.5 overs (C. Soundarajan 33, S. Sanjay seven for 45). Salem and Dharampuri qualify.

At Villupuram: Villupuram 88 in 34 overs (A. Kamaleshwaran 34, G.R. Nithin three for nine, R.S. Mohit Hariharan three for five) lost to Kancheepuram 90 for no loss in 11.2 overs(R. S. Mohith Hariharan 44 n.o., G. R. Nithin 40 n.o.).

Thiruvarur DCA 106 in 32 overs (S. Naren Bharathi six for 12) lost to Virudhunagar 107 for three in 30.1 overs (M. Balagowsik 28, P.S. Jeya Suriyakumar 33). Kancheepuram and Virudhunagar qualify.

At Dindigul: Dindigul 276 for four in 50 overs (K. Aashiq 102 n.o., T. Dinesh 52, V. Anantha Kumar 41 n.o.) bt Thanjavur 87 in 35.3 overs (T. Dinesh three for 11). Dindigul & Erode qualify .

At Ramanathapuram: Thiruvannamalai 73 in 34.4 overs (Saren Ganesh four for 9, Abi three for 9) lost to Ramanathapuram 74 for three in 17 overs.

At Sivagangai: Sivagangai 108 in 33.3 overs (S. Ajay Matavaraj three for 13, J. Stephen Jack three for 20) lost to Tuticorin 110 for three in 21.1 overs (J. Dean Jones 61 n.o.). Coimbatore & Tuticorin qualify .

At Tirunelveli: Tirunelveli 143 in 47.5 overs (A. Sridharsan 39, S. Lakshay Jain three for 15, A. Mohammed Tippyan three for 27) lost to Vellore 147 for one in 24 overs (Ashraey.S.Harigan 93 n.o., S. Lakshay Jain 29 n.o.).
