In an industry that is belief-driven and where combinations are considered next only to content, star cast and technicians, GAV, as Govindudu Andari Vaade has come to be termed, is all of that and more.
GAV is ‘Creative Director’ Krishna Vamsi’s first project with Ram Charan Tej and music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the second with Kajal Agarwal (after Chandamama ). The Kajal-Ram Charan combination instantly conjures up the phenomenal success of Magadheera , an all-time-great movie and Nayak that was also a hit.
The ‘teaser’ launch recently had everybody praising everyone else. Ram Charan said GAV meant the end of a four-year wait to work with Krishna Vamsi.
It is a film that revolves around the story of a boy from London finding his roots in a remote village of Andhra Pradesh. The director himself said, without mincing words, that it was the hero who gave him a chance! He went on to add that it was a five-year wait to get Yuvan Shankar Raja, son of the maestro Ilayaraja, to score the music.
On the sidelines of the function, the director told this reporter that GAV had all the makings of a happy, unforgettable family entertainer. Among others, this film, produced by Bandla Ganesh, has Kamalini Mukherjee, Sreekanth, Jayasudha and Prakash Raj too in the cast.
