Renuka Shahane returns to fiction shows!

In films she is best remembered as Salman Khan's caring bhabhi in the biggest blockbuster Hum Aapke Hai Koun. On TV, the actress is known for landmark serials like Sailaab, Imtihaan and Kora Kogaz besides Surbhi that she co-hosted with Siddharth Kak. And now after more than a decade, Renuka Shahane makes a comeback to fiction shows with the upcoming Mere Rang Mein Rangewali. Renuka will be the sutradhar and also make a cameo appearance as a lawyer. Says Renuka, "The show is produced by Soorajji (Barjatya the director of Hum Aapke Hai Koun) and when I got a call from his office I didn't even ask what it was. I just said yes. Initially, he wanted me to play another pivotal character but it's not possible for me to shoot 25 days in a month. When I conveyed that he offered me a cameo." The actress plays a mother to a 20-year-old girl who is a friend of the protagonist played by a newcomer Pranali. Whenever she has a problem she consults Renuka.

Besides Mere Rang Mein Rangnewali, Renuka is hosting Hunnarbazz with her Surbhi co-host Siddharth Kak. The actress who has a smile that can warm your hearts is all set to judge a Marathi comedy show."It's the best job. All I have to do is sit back and laugh," she says. Renuka has also been busy with Marathi films, one of which Bhakarkhadi 7 km has already released. She will be seen next in Janiva that deals with burning issues like mercy killing, laws for juveniles and has her playing a defence lawyer. In the pipeline are a film with Umesh Kulkarni and a family drama Te Aath Divas directed by Tushar Dalvi.
