BREAKING: FIFA says Commission of Enquiry violates it's statutes
08.08.2014 LISTEN

Allsports.com.gh understands world football governing body FIFA has told the Ghana Football Association that the presidential commission set up to look into Ghana's participation at the world cup violates it's strict policy on government's interference in the running of football

A FIFA letter to the GFA on Thursday says some of the terms of the commission which includes looking into the preparation of the Black Stars and the events at the team's camp during their stay in Brazil are strictly football matters that must be handled by the congress of the GFA and not any other body.

FIFA's letter could put the spokes in the works of the commission which is preparing to begin sitting on Monday with a view to investigating issues surrounding Ghana's participation at the world cup which ended in utter chaos.

The Black Stars were knocked out of the world cup for the first time in the first round amidst a bonus row.

And while those issues deeply embarrassed Ghana, FIFA seems to have taken the view that issues regarding a team's preparation and events in the team's camp have nothing to do with government.
