Kajol Kajol

Actress Kajol, who was last seen in Dharma Productions’ We Are Family in 2010, will be seen on the big screen next year. The actress is all geared up to essay the role of a mafia widow in her next, which is based on a popular Dutch television series titled Penoza. The story of the series is based on the life of a woman named Carmen, who takes charge of the criminal business run by her family, after the assassination of her husband who was a mafia king. The yet-untitled film will be directed by Ram Madhvani, a well-known ad film-maker who had earlier directed the first-ever Indian feature film shot on the digital format, titled Let’s Talk, in 2002.
The action-packed thriller will be co-produced by Endemol India and Kajol’s husband, actor Ajay Devgn. Commenting on the collaboration, Deepak Dhar- MD and CEO, Endemol India stated, “We are thrilled to work with the versatile Kajol for her comeback project on the big screen. The actress will indeed reprise the lead role of Carmen in the movie adaptation of Endemol’s original hit series, Penoza. The talented Ram Madhvani will helm the gripping tale about a woman of substance surviving her circumstances.” The film is scheduled to take off in the last quarter of 2014.
