Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Cadre Welfare Fund coordinator Nara Lokesh has sharply reacted to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s suggestion to Andhra Pradesh to follow Telangana on development. “Forget development. Let him (Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao) ensure qualitative power to Hyderabad first,” he said.

Mr. Lokesh was in the town to inaugurate a solar power plant at Marsampudi village near here on Thursday.

His remarks come in the backdrop of KCR comment that Andhra Pradesh should stop squabbling with Telangana and concentrate on the development, and compete with Telangana.

Ridiculing the Telangana Chief Minister’s challenge to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu on development, he said: “Andhra Pradesh will compete with Singapore, and show what the development is. Telangana would have to follow Andhra Pradesh invariably on development front.”

Mr. Lokesh said the State government chalked out plans to generate 12,000 MW solar power in near future. The government was throwing a red carpet to entrepreneurs who were interested in solar power, he said adding the government was committed to provide 24-hour power to villages and urban areas from October 1.

Earlier, he inaugurated Renan Solar Private Limited company’s 1 MW plant constructed at a cost of Rs. 7.2 crore in 6 acre land.

Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, company MD Srivatsava Sunkara and others were present.
