Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler has thrown a challenge to Ghanaian international Kevin-Prince Boateng ahead of the new season.
The German who is one of the best talents in the Bundesliga is looking to be Schalke's first choice in the 'number 10' role.
A few weeks ago Max Meyer was quoted as saying he was looking to challenge Boateng for the position, and Draxler has included himself in the battle.
In an interview with Bild , in response to a question about where he would prefer to play next season, Draxler said: "I want to play at the number 10! But so do Maxi Meyer and Kevin-Prince Boateng. But of course I can also play on the left or right."
Kevin-Prince Boateng has been a revelation at Schalke ever since joining the club from AC Milan but he'll have his work cut out for him next season, as evident by the number of players prepared to take his preferred position.
