PUNE: After losing in the fourth round, both Indian teams won against weaker teams in the fifth round of Chess Olympiad in Tromso, Norway, on Wednesday.
According to the webcast, 19th seed Indian men defeated No. 53 Montenegro (score yet to be decided) while the fifth seed women's team blanked 34th seeds Austria 4-0. Indonesian women, who had a dream run in the 11round meet, met their match in China and lost 0.5-3.5.

In other significant result, Russian men drew with Bulgaria 2-2 despite Vladimir Kramnik beating his sworn rival Veselin Topalov with white pieces.
The Russian had lost to the Bulgarian in the Candidates tournament. However, Karjakin's loss to Iotov on the third board spoiled the Russian party.
Azerbaijan and Serbia drew 2-2 on the top board and Uzbekistan upset Ukraine with Anand's former second Rustam Kasimdzhanov beating Vassily Ivanchuk with black pieces.
