Smita had no qualms about going bald

Prajakta Mali recalls her last meeting with veteran actress-producer-director Smita Talwalkar, who she considers a very strong woman.
Prajakta became a household name with a serial produced under Smita’s banner. Though Prajakta had been around in industry for some time and had done some small roles in serials, it was Smita’s show that brought Prajakta stardom and recognition.Recalling her last meeting with Smita, Prajakta said, “There was a talk show in Mulund and she was interviewing me and my ‘Julun Yeti Reshimgathi’ co-star Lalit Prabhakar. She was very weak and had lost a lot of hair. She had tied a scarf around her head. But then she said to me, 'Men roam around bald and no one says anything. I too have no fear of criticism and shall not wear a wig or scarf'.”

Prajakta remembers Smita to be a strong woman who was capable of undertaking any work. Prajakta said, “She is one of the strongest ladies I have ever come across. She would take care of every aspect of production efficiently.”
