ISLAMABAD – Unseeded Talha Zubair of Karachi crushed top seed Syed Nofil Kaleem of Islamabad to lift the Warid National Ranking Tennis Championship U-18 title here at Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex on Wednesday. Talha remained dominant throughout the match and thrashed Nofil 6-2, 6-4. It was Talha’s third upset in the entire event. Shahzad Khan and M Abid qualified for the men’s singles final. In the first semi-final, Shahzad won the first set 7-6 and also played well in the second to win it 6-4. In the second semifinal, Abid played exceptional tennis against Faizan Khurram of Lahore defeating him 6-4, 6-4. Second seed Sahibzada M Ali of Karachi claimed the boys U-14 title after routing top seed Huzaifa Abdul Rehman of Mangla in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.–Staff Reporter
