Land for conquerors of Everest

The State government has asked the administration of Khammam and Nizamabad districts to identify agricultural lands for being given as grant to the Mount Everest conquerors S. Anand Kumar and Malavath Poorna in their respective districts.

The government also ordered the authorities to construct three additional rooms in the houses of the two children in their native villages. It sanctioned Rs. 25 lakh each to Mr. Anand Kumar, Ms. Poorna and their trainer, B. Shekhar Babu, as cash incentive which would be presented to them on Independence Day.
