There's a reason why over 12,000 beauty addicts in the UK are already on the waiting list for Yves Saint Laurent's newest Fusion Ink foundation, modelled by Cara Delevingne and launching later this month. It's so technologically advanced, it's inspired by NASA! The bonus: it supposedly lasts for 24 hours.

Flawless skin from space

According to YSL, the technology used to keep the skin matted for a longer period is the same as the one they would use to capture stellar dust particles in outerspace. The honeycomb structure of lipophilic actives (ingredients that make the skin water resistant, protect the skin against dehydration and smoothen skin and reduce minor wrinkles) absorbs four times its weight in our natural oils, without the problem of dryness or irritation of the skin.

Oily skinned mortals, this one's for you. Ladies with dryer skin, you might want to skip this one.

One swipe in the morning and you're free from the hassle of reapplication, primers and powders. The inky-fine texture makes sure your skin doesn't feel heavy or cakey. Fusion Ink gives your skin that soft matte effect to get rid of the oiliness.

Watch how to apply the foundation:

The YSL Fusion Ink foundation will hit stores worldwide from August 20, 2014, while its official launch will be on August 10 in Debenhams stores in the UK.
