PATNA: Patna police are yet to arrest rest of the accused involved in the murder of Vishakha Devi who was allegedly shot by her husband Sunil Kumar Ojha on Saturday night at their residence located at Gola Road in Tarakunj area under Rupaspur police station. Sunil, however, was arrested and sent to jail on Monday.
Vishakha's brother Rahul Kumar lodged an FIR with the Rupaspur police station against Sunil and his entire family for killing her.
According to sources, Vishakha was seven-month pregnant at the time she was killed. The couple has a five-year-old son, Saksham, who has been missing since the incident took place. "The police are saying the entire family has been absconding and Saksham is also with them. We suspect about his well-being. We want police to arrest the accused and recover Saksham as soon as possible," Rahul said.
"We cannot find out Saksham on priority basis as he was not kidnapped. Moreover, no FIR has been launched in this connection. He is probably staying at the house of some relative who is not accused in the case," said a police officer.
SSP Manu Maharaaj said the police are on the job to find out the whereabouts of the family members.
Rahul told police that Vishakha had consumed poison two-and-a-half years back also to get rid of the family tension. "Sunil and his family members always used to demand expensive gifts, including luxury cars and branded apparels, from our family. They did not allow Vishakha to visit her maternal house during last one and half years. We used to keep in touch through mobile phone. On Saturday too, she talked to her mother over phone and told her that she had a fight with her sister-in-law. But we had no idea that the quarrel will be so violent," Rahul said.
Sunil a local businessman had allegedly fired two rounds of bullets at Vishakha. One bullet hit her head while the second one hit the wall first and then his face. Both of them were rushed to a private hospital but Vishakha was referred to PMCH where she was declared brought dead.
