BANGALORE: The tussle among mid-rung BJP leaders in the state has started even as the high command is shortlisting names for the new general secretaries.
After Amit Shah was made the new BJP president and five general secretaries - HN Ananth Kumar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Tavarchand Ghelot, Prakash Javdekar and Nirmala Sitharaman -- becoming ministers in the Narendra Modi government, the search for new general secretaries and other office-bearers has begun.

Former ministers Aravind Limbavali, S Suresh Kumar, CT Ravi, Visvesvara Hegde Kageri and Shobha Karandlaje are also in the race. One from the state is expected to be made general secretary and put in charge of one or two states.
The state unit is said to be backing Limbavali and he has been summoned thrice to New Delhi after the new president was named. There is also one post each from the state for the vice-president and secretary posts.
The state unit's office bearers will meet on Wednesday to discuss strategies to strengthen the party.
